Description
We are excited to showcase our recent project: the construction of a dedicated SEN (Special Educational Needs) block at Rocklands Primary School. This new facility aims to provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to the unique needs of students with special educational requirements. The block features spacious classrooms, therapy rooms, and sensory spaces designed to promote learning and well-being.
Enhanced Fire Safety: Safety was our utmost priority in this project. We implemented high-performance fire-rated materials throughout the building, including robust fire-resistant walls, doors, and glazing, ensuring compliance with the highest safety standards to protect our students.
Superior Acoustic Performance: Understanding the importance of a quiet learning atmosphere, we integrated advanced acoustic insulation solutions. These systems effectively reduce external noise and create a serene environment, allowing students to focus and thrive.
Challenges
The construction of the SEN block at Rocklands Primary School presented several unique challenges that required innovative solutions:
Working with High Ceilings: The design of the new block featured high ceilings, which necessitated specialised scaffolding and safety measures to ensure the safety of our team and the school community. This required careful planning and coordination to execute tasks efficiently and safely at height.
Larger Facility: As the SEN block was larger than our previous SEN projects, managing the scale of construction while ensuring minimal disruption to the school environment was crucial. Our team adopted a phased approach to construction, allowing us to systematically complete sections of the project while keeping the programme running smoothly.
Navigating School Operations: Working within an active primary school environment posed logistical challenges. Our team maintained open communication with school staff, coordinating schedules and ensuring safe pathways for students and teachers during construction hours.
Results
