Description
Mellor & Co Plastering was contracted to deliver the complete plastering works for the fast-paced refurbishment of 152 student rooms at Warwick University's halls of residence. The project required a tight 10-week turnaround, putting our team’s skills, coordination, and resilience to the test. Despite the logistical challenges, we successfully completed the project within the contracted time frame.

Compressed Timeline:
One of the biggest hurdles of this project was the demanding 10-week programme. This was a non-negotiable deadline, as the university needed the halls ready for the upcoming academic year. The high intensity of the schedule meant there was no room for delays, requiring meticulous planning, execution, and coordination across all trades involved.
Logistical Complexity:
Working on an active university campus always presents logistical hurdles. The Warwick University site was no different, with limited access points and the need to ensure minimal disruption to the students and faculty on-site. Moving materials across the campus and into the relevant areas of the building while coordinating with other contractors added to the complexity, but our team stayed flexible and adapted quickly.
Coordination with Other Trades:
With multiple trades working simultaneously, our plastering team had to coordinate carefully to ensure smooth handovers between trades. We maintained clear communication with the main contractor and other subcontractors to avoid bottlenecks, ensuring that every part of the refurbishment remained on track.
